Welcome from the Program Directors
On behalf of the Society and the members of the Program Committee, we would like to welcome you to the 11th International Meeting of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society in Houston, Texas. With the incredible history of innovation and exploration found in the Houston area thanks to the strong ties to NASA and the space industry, the theme of this year’s meeting deals with risk and safety in cardiac critical care. Therefore, the title of the meeting is, “Houston We Have a Problem: Risk, Safety, and Science in Cardiac Critical Care.” The program curriculum and activities are designed to provide an interactive educational forum for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who care for neonates, children, and adults with heart disease in the intensive care setting.
- Physician specialties represented include cardiology, critical care medicine, cardiac surgery, anesthesia, and neonatology
- Nursing representation includes pediatric critical care nurses and advanced practice nurses
- Specialty educational tracks for simulation, ECMO, and nursing are included in the Program activities
